Our History

Freedom of Expression

The Studio of Ballet Arts Ltd., established in 2003, is dedicated to creating the love of dance for all ages in a caring atmosphere. Our staff encourages the development of self confidence, poise, and a sense of purpose in each student to help them strive beyond their own vision of themselves by finding success in their accomplishments.

Director Alison Bawek encourages the love of dance by opening the doors for many young students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to express themselves. This unique philosophy allows dancers to pursue their dreams of performing in a creative and supportive environment.

In 2024, Studio of Ballet Arts changed their name and logo to SBA Dance Collective Inc. in order to be a more inclusive name and reach out to new demographics—people who might not have previously felt represented—that they are welcome.  A name like “Dance Collective” suggests a community of different styles, skill levels, and expressions, moving beyond the traditional image of a single style or a specific, elite group.

SBA Dance Collective continues to provide unequaled services convenient to all of Montgomery County, including Sandy Spring, Olney, Rockville, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring, as well as Howard County.
